You could make that argument but what good would it do? I could argue that slave owners were not all racist. They owned slaves because that was how things were in that period. They treated slaves as a bought and sold commodity to handle labor. They did not own and work slaves just because they were black. All races have been enslaved over time. It is a human rights issue not a civil rights issue. What the founding fathers did do is put in place a system of government that made it possible to end slavery. I think the worst racism in America came along after the civil war. Racism is one thing and prejudice is another. Actions define racism and bad policy. Affirmative Action is racism and the founders would not favor that.
