Yep, I remember those days well; that was back before I became enlightened and joined the progressive movement. I owned a mortgage company, and I recall turning away millions of dollars worth of business because there was no way I was going to stoop so low as to make any green from somebody who wasn't white. My loan officers would bring in a deal that would net me a couple thousand dollars, but as soon as I found out the applicant wasn't white, we would deny the loan even though the borrower was well qualified. Only after the CRA did we grudgingly accept the income we made from granting loans to minorities. The govt spoiled the fun we had in turning down good loans and foregoing the revenue we could have made.
