There was an attempt to save Ambassador Stevens with a Marine helicopter and 8 Marines coming across the desert from Brega. The problem is that there were approximately 35 Americans needing rescue in Benghazi. (President Obama had said there were 'no Marines' in Libya...where did these Marines come from, if not from Brega?) There was a need for more helicopters as the one helicopter was ambushed. (President Obama put 12,000 troops in Brega, a coastal city, to guard Libya's only oil refinery and one terminal. These troops landed January 23, 2012. If there were Marines in Libya, why were 20 of them not assigned to guard the Libyan embassy after it was bombed June 6, 2012, in Brega?).
