@neoreconstructionist. I agree. That makes a comparison between the two events unlikely, although the media seems to be trying hard to draw one. Bush wasn't aware of the attacks on the twin towers until after the event, nor was Obama adequately advised on the intelligence from Libya until WELL AFTER the event. Just as there was initially considerable confusion (and misinformation) on 9-11 about exactly what was happening, there was also uncertainty about exactly what had happened in Libya. The 6-hour time difference can't have helped either. These types of communications issues seem to be more common than not in such circumstances. Trying to create some kind of conspiracy instead of letting the truth play out is not wise.
