While I was a student, I was a member of the 47%. I now have my degree, and am in the 53%. I didn't suddenly become more hard-working, nor did I become a better person when that degree was conferred upon me. When I am old, after a lifetime of good solid work, I will hopefully be able to retire. Then, too, I would be a member of the 47%. It would not be because I was looking for handouts, but because I had given my whole life before and was simply seeking repayment of the loan of my more productive years. Romneys statement implies that the 'victim' mentality is far more pervasive than it is. Or, rather, that the victim mentality is all that stands between someone and a better life. I say this - having a good attitude will take....
