There was a book published some time ago about the death of common sense. I my occupation, I listen to people all day, and the level of ability at all ages and backgrounds to make logical sense of circumstances is diminishing every moment. When I hear someone who actually reasons and acts reasonable, I point it out. I didn't used to have to do that, but it is so uncommon now and it is painful to listen to most people babble nonsense based on their emotions. It is "if it feels good, do it" culture and the heck with the foreseeable and logical consequences.
