nodeamass, you really need to do yourself a favor and read up or go back to school. your knowledge of economic systems -- and history -- is appalling. what you say you want is NEVER what has happend with socialistic governments. quite the contrary. then its the bureaucrats that decide everything instead of the 'capitalists'. politicians decide the fate of far more people than any individual business does. a few layoffs? regrettable but it usually SAVES the jobs of those who remain. the difference doesn't just go into the pockets of the owners. nobody in any economy "selects" their work. in this free (capitalist) country there is FAR MORE choice of job path than most places although we are quickly declining in Economic Freedom
