A few questions, in anticipation of getting this book. On reporters: Hope the book contains a discussion of "The Race Beat" which documents reporters being intimidated, assaulted, and injured. Historical Question: Why did the Republicans walk away from Reconstruction and let the Bourbons reclaim control of the south? Historical: Why, in an era of Republican dominance (1896-1930), was there no legislation to rectify injustices in the south? Why did Republicans nominate an opponent to the Civil Rights Act in 1964? Why did George Romney lead a protest against the Republican platform in 1964? This is going to be a helluva discussion.
