Fruits and veggies are good for kids but they don't have the protein that keeps a person from getting hungry. They have lots of fiber and vitamins but that is not enough. They need lean beef, chicken and turkey. They need some healthy but great tasting carb rich food. Give them kettle or baked chips instead of the regular kind. Wheat pitas? Nasty, give them whole grain white. It's not the best but it has nutritional value and kids will eat it. How about mozzarella string cheese and sides w low fat dressing and condiment.
The problem begins at home. Kids need more exercise and for parents to set a good example. Apparently they aren't.
