Bob Barr has done a serious disservice to readers by using his platform to write an article based primarily on information disseminated by Armstrong and his lawyers and neglecting to do any research on international anti-doping initiatives. The USADA operates according to the World Anti-Doping Code. The Code represents a compromise agreed to by roughly 200 nations that form the Olympic Movement as well as every major international sporting federation. Armstrong agreed to race in compliance with the Code, and if he believed that the USADA acted improperly he had recourse through the Court of Arbitration for Sport. Why he and his lawyers chose to try and fight doping charges in the courts is beyond anyone with knowledge of sport law.
