These damn teacher's unions balk as soon as they have to be held accountable for their results. If the students don't make the grade, the teacher can be dismissed - they don't like that. Apparently it's everybody's fault, except theirs, that students can't read, write or just about anything else they are taught. But, heavne forbid a school district wants them to pay more for their benefits - NO WAY. They should work in the private sector where they would most certainly pay 2X as much for their benefits and pay a higher "out of pocket". That's the problem with unions in the public sector, or for that matter anywhere, they take, take, take but don't ask them to give.
