This President is lying. He had a golden opportunity to tackle the economy his first two years in office. He had both the House and the Senate. And he wasted it on his Healthcare bill. He has an income redistribution agenda ("remaking America") and he has other things he wants to do. If the Republicans keep the House and/or take the Senate he'll blame the lack of progress on them, because HE WON'T WORK THEM, the man doesn't have a moderate bone in his body. So he'll focus on his redistribution agenda through unconstitutional and regulatory means and ignore the economy.
