You're conflating 1st generation Asian kids from some countries who tend to excel academically with opportunity. This family got something better than affirmative action. They were granted entry to the U.S., had a family who sponsored them, got a job from your family, and mentoring. There's no comparison to affirmative action. My kid's best friend was an Asian American, second generation she did not excel in school but her sister did. My next door neighbors were an interracial asian couple. Her White hubby left after an affair. One son is in the armed forces and the other dropped out of college. What does this prove for other immigrants? Nothing.
