I'm in general agreement with Stossel and Johnson, but in today's circumstances no third party candidate is going to win any national office and very few will gain local office. Unless one of the major parties self-destructs and creates an opening, any change will have to be within the existing structure. Through more involvement in local Republican and Tea Party organizations and election of good candidates, the statist Republican leadership can be replaced and the Republican party taken over, as the radical Marxists took over the Democrat party. Either Obama, or Romney will be president next year and a bad president is preferable to a disasterous one.
