Funny thing, people forget about the inefficiencies of government and the associated bureaucracy. An example: a government bureaucracy has a built-in inefficiencies when it comes to monies for social programs (or any government program for that matter). As a dollar, paid into government coffers for social programs, is filtered through the bureaucratic system, a large portion of that dollar is used to pay the salaries of members of the government bureaucracy (and “other non-government things”). In the end, social programs will never ever receive the full benefit of the original dollar. In fact I think that it maybe considerably less that even $.25 on that one dollar. That is why we must minimize dependency on government.
