The problem with the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan is the no one seems to be interested in fighting wars to win them anymore. If you start a war, you go into it to win it. That means you go all out. You don't worry about leaving infrastructure intact. You don't worry about collateral damage. You wipe out everything and everyone who stands in your way. When a village's elders KNOW that supporting the other side WILL result in the entire village being razed, they are a LOT less likely to support the other side. The entire "you aren't allowed to fire if civilians are in the area" rules of engagement is a recipe for disaster. It has caused the loss of more lives amongst America and her allies than anything else. When you can hold a village as
