Did anyone really expect him to abandon the campaign trail? We saw first hand, back in 2008, that when it comes to solving problems in Washington (financial meltdown), Obama would rather be on the street complaining than being part of the solution. I think this allowed him to use the "I inherited this" meme for three and a half years.
