My husband sells knee and hip implants and no one we know has ever made that much in commision. That may be what the manufacturer charges then pays the rep commission from that, usually no more than 10% on a sliding scale. Some reps are "consultants" and not true "employees" and have to pay for their own healthcare as well as the full 15.3% in FICA and Medicare taxes. So, they are not making twice as much what a family doc makes.
