I have to disagree with Saunders about mentioning Goebbels. He did coin the theory of the big lie. That he happened to be a Nazi is not my fault if, say, I used his name to explain why the Republican House passed a whole bunch of jobs bills, all of which died without even a vote (if I recall correctly) in the Democratic Senate and the Republicans keep being blamed for the impasse. The most I might do, just to avoid inadvertant meanings like this one is not use his name. The Big Lie is one of those things like "I can see Russia from my house." You hear it so often you believe its true although it is not. (The quote is by Tina Fey in a SNL skit where she plays Sarah Palin.)
