I'm not sure what you mean when you say the Romney speech had "no ideas." True it was not a Clintonian laundry list of policy details - it was more on the order of a framework. But I distinctly heard Romney talk about "taking full advantage of our oil and coal and gas and nuclear and renewables." Wouldn't that be considered an idea?
I'm also quite sure I heard him mention "reducing taxes on business," along with "simplifying and modernizing the regulations that hurt small business the most." And was it just me, or did he not say something about "repealing and replacing Obamacare?' I suppose to a seasoned veteran opinion writer like yourself, Johah, these may not qualify, but to the untrained eye, they sure seem like ideas.
