Here's the deal. Of course, Stossel is correct. However, there have been a ton of speeches by Romney and now Ryan that talked plenty about reigning in the size of government, and Romney/Ryan have actually produced and discussed plans for overhauling entitlements. The problem is that in order to do any of that, Romney needs to be elected. So, he scripted his convention to appeal to the undecideds. And it appears that it may have worked. Now, Mitt can return to his message of fiscal responsibility, and hopefully more folks will listen and get on board. Let's not judge an entire campaign on a single speech. I'm completely on board with eliminating taxpayer money for these conventions.
