You can figure out the fault current from the claimed horsepower of the electric drive system and the battery voltage if you make a few assumptions about wiring resistances. Best case is enough to shame any portable welder I've ever seen, worst case would give a truck mounted system a run for its money. Storing enough energy to move a one or two ton car hundreds of miles (or even tens of miles) down the road is always going to be risky. Picture a controlled explosion big enough to send a car fro NYC to Boston (or LA to San Fransisco if you live on the west coast). The gas tank of that car stores enough energy to create such an explosion. Just mix the fuel with the right amount of air and supply a small spark. Aren't ya glad that your engine
