phil, you need to do more research. ethanol is cheaper than gasoline. and ethanol only removes the starch portion of corn, and returns the high protein portion back into the feed supply. corn is 60 % starch. please do the math. and if as you implore the ethanol deal is idled, then we will run out of soybeans, as the dried distillers grains from ethanol supplement the protein needs for livestock. we have no shortage of starch in this world, but we have a problem with protein. your imaginary solution will not help.
