The common enemy is statism. Mitt Romney falls firmly in the statist camp. He refuses to even consider cutting a single penny from the bloated defense budget. The thoughts of actually re-establishing civil liberties by such things as abolishing the TSA, repealing the Patriot Act, or ending the war on drugs are complete heresy to him. Even on so-called fiscal and economic matters, where the Republicans are allegedly better than the Democrats, he refuses to take any clear position. He talks about controlling the deficit, but has yet to identify a single measure he would take. We've heard such talk so many times before. There's really no reason for Paul supporters to take tweedle-R over tweedle-O.
