Every election we see the same depressing phenomenon: conservatives poised to win big, and single-issue right-to-life/anti-abortion true believers who jump into the limelight, alienate swing voters who decide the outcome, and elect Democrats. Romney/Ryan have the skills and the will to pull us back from Obama's plunge into permanent serfdom if they can just keep the focus on the economy and the size of government; and Baisley and his friends have to jump in and scream "abortion!" Todd Akin forfeited an easy win over Claire McCaskill with his idiotic comment and pigheaded refusal to get out of the race -- maybe ensuring that Democrats keep the Senate and we are doomed to live under Obamacare. As Bob Gates famously said, Shut the F*** Up!
