Todd Akin deserves to be ostracized. He is stupid and our country can ill afford anymore stupid people making its laws. I stopped supporting the Republican party because the people on its slate of candidates were no different from those they opposed. We need to understand that a conservative candidate has to be smarter, more ethical and more honorable than anyone else. He has to be above reproach. Being personable, likeable and affable isn't enough. Yes, the bar is substantially higher but to compete successfully against promises of bread and circuses for all that is what is required.
