I really enjoyed this column, as it helped me to clarify my thoughts. I recall when hearing of Kofi Annan's appointment as a special envoy, that I was not filled with any sense of optomisim. At the time, I could not understand why I had these feelings. As the months rolled by without any resolution to the crisis, I finally became to feel that Annan was the problem, and not the soloution.
