Some things coaches used to do like not allow you to drink for 2 hours in 110 degree weather nowo that is not smart. Now most coaches insist players drink water. If a helmet accidently comes off referees are to stop the play immediatly. In Idaho and other places High School coaches and referees are trained on concussion symptoms. Can't go back in without doctors clearance. Were always told to keep our heads up to avoid parylysis as well. Some injuries do happen such as knee injuries. Interesting thing is injured football players have plenty of spokesman. But it is seldom if ever the injured player himself.
