The Left-Right spectrum of political power is a false one, invented and promoted by the Progressives. As Williams points out, Progressivism is merely Socialism under a dissembling name. Franco, Mussolini, Batista, and company all represented forms of tyranny which varied only in the scope of power they exercised. Soviet and Chinese Communism and Nazism represented totalitarian power, that is, complete control of an individual's life.
