I don't hold movie studios responsible in any of this because its the PARENT'S job to teach their children the difference between reality and fantasy, right and wrong, and between dramatic themes. My father's first words to me about television were: "anything that happens behind that glass is make-believe unless I tell you otherwise". He then taught me how even the news is not always the full and honest truth, that even nature shows on PBS can be slanted, and so on.
And ever since then, I can watch the most depraved, sadistic, and horrifying movie scenes knowing full well that its only a movie, not a reflection on reality. And I've learned to take a lot of meaning from the themes conveyed in movies without making those themes part of me
