Actually, Dean, the two have a great deal in common. The fundamental assumptions about the nature of man that underlie both liberal Christianity and liberal politics are the same. Both assume that man is basically good and that through education and other human efforts he can be made even better. But when you educate a sinner you do not get a good man; you get an educated sinner. The men who flew the airplanes into the twin towers were not uneducated; they were evil. War is not caused by lack of understanding; it is caused by self-centered conflict of interest. Liberalism gives wrong answers to the problems of man because it does not accept God's diagnosis of the condition of man.
