GE is a global company and over the past 10 years GE's revenue from outside the U.S. climbed from 35% of GE’s total in 2001 to 53% by the end of 2011. Despite that shift, half of GE's industrial workforce has been based in the U.S. consistently throughout the past 10 years. Exports are a key component to GE growing jobs in the US. Separately, the ATI Casting order happened in 2009. Your article implies that it is current news. GE’s discussions with ATI were regarding terms and conditions. After good faith negotiations, we were unable to meet an acceptable deal. Price was not the issue for this contract. GE Wind has invested more than $50 million in equipment and support for our U.S. suppliers over the past five years.
