Error on Rob. There was no one like him until Ruth. The pitching may have been weaker but no ball player was hitting them like Ruth. He defined his era. Dunn may be bigger, stronger and faster (funny you did not mention that the season and postseason were shorter in Ruth’s time) but there are many players today that can match Dunn’s numbers. He doesn’t stand out amongst his peers in the same way Ruth did. Answer the question this way would you rather have Adam Dunn on your team or a player that stood out as much as Ruth compared with the rest of the league. What would Ruth’s numbers earn $$ today?
