As we slide into the abyss, the type of thinking in this column is what passes for conservativism. That is how we got here. For Ms. Lopez education, she might be reminded that the role of the court is not to rubber stamp what the Congress produces, simply because they were elected. The role of the Court is to determine if the legislation is Constitutional. Is that so hard to understand? In this case the legislation was written specifically to not be a tax. Now the Supreme Court rewrote it to be a tax so it would be Constitutional. The same Roberts who says its not his job to protect the people from who they elected overturned what the elected representative of Arizona did in passing a law to defend their borders. This is pure BS.
