I really like Star Parker's columns, however, she is not looking at a very IMPORTANT aspect about "black education," in the U.S. As many of us in the "educational field" KNOW---you HAVE to show-up at school to get an education! At the high school level, this is an extreme problem! And once AT school, you HAVE to "listen!" Which also is a BIG PROBLEM within black high school-aged students! You CANNOT "miss school" 2-3 days each week, and "expect" ANYTHING! And it's NOT the teacher's responsibility to make sure you "get to school!" By high school, these kids need to "take ownership" of their own education, as well as their future!!! Teachers CANNOT and SHOULD NOT "hold your hand," making sure you're listening and participating!
