I thought the third paragraph of the article addressed what you are saying. Dennis indeed calls it "destructive" when a man denies his wife sex and that the problem does happen. But the problem has "different causes and solutions" and requires a different analysis/discussion. Whether or not you agree with that point (I think women are hurt just as deeply but DIFFERENTLY by sexual rejection), I don't think Dennis is diminishing the feelings of sex-deprived wives. As a man, he is more qualified to discuss the problem from the male perspective.
I do think women are more likely to deprive their husbands of sex because they are not in the mood, don't have the drive, etc. without even realizing how much it hurts their mates.
