Believe it or not - plumbers are an essential part of our society. I'm working on my masters degree in sociology, but I remember as an undergrad, taking my Intro to Sociology class, and my professor explained one day how essential garbage men are to a functional society. She explained that if garbage men didn't show up for work when they were supposed to and perform the essential actions necessary, then our society, would literally have no way to properly dispose of our trash, and well - just use your imagination of how nasty things would get. The same concept can be applied to plumbers. They hold an essential role in a functional society. Without them, our toilets would break and not get fixed.
