I'm not talking about the 20/20 hindsight. I'm talking about something that any honest man could have assessed THEN, at the time. Namely, that WWI was a stalemate of entangled, colonial powers with no cause for American boys to join.
No defense of the USA was involved. NONE. A few crooked leaders pushed us into someone else's fight with disastrous consequences. All the worse, our crooked leaders took us there DESPITE the wishes of the bulk of the populace, and DESPITE the campaign promises they made.
