I agree with the article. I'm a football fan, but let the teams build their own stadium without my money. I'm also a NASCAR fan. I'm pretty sure every race track in the country operates on it's own without subsidies, and that private business model likely brings the venue owner more of a return than taxpayer funding ever would. I doubt Churchill Downs has ever received taxpayer money at that place does fabulous business to be open only, what, one day a year? Does anyone know of other sports that receive none of my money?
