I had a friend, a great pianist, Naum Shtarkman, whom we worked and played together before his arrest in 1958 (for homosexuality) and thereafter, after 1967.

Before his arrest, he was married and had kids, which proves that his further homosexuality was not genetically inherited, but rather a means to "decorate" his normal sexual activity with some additional fantasies.
It didn't hurt me in any way, because he didn't exhibit his sexual life on a public stage, as our rabid homosexuals are doing.
That's why we kept being friends when he was released.
