Bravo, Ann! The supreme irony is that this is the one area where the GOP could have drawn a tsunami of support, even including a significant number of angry Democrats. But no, cheap labor and the nightmare scenario of possibly alienating some tiny fraction of Hispanics is just too much for these evil cowards. I say evil not as an exaggeration, because I don't know what else you call political leaders who favor an invasion of their own nation and the demographic rubbing out of their own people. (Mass green cards for PhD's we don't need either, mostly being a disguised upscale version of cheap manual labor.)
