As a university freshman when Ike Eisenhower was running for president, the campus radical-left supporting Adeli Stevenson portrayed Ike as a dinosaur who would take us back to the “Hoover” days. Naïve as I was, I manned an apple-barrel commemorating a return to when Depression down-and-outers were selling apples on the streets of Manhattan. It goes to demonstrate that AP acceptance to university doesn’t mean much. I was as brain dead as Occupiers today. But, I wised up and left university to enlist in the Air Force. Years later, wiser with some adult experience, I returned to university. The radical-left had not gone away, but I was much better prepared to address and counter their fictitious arguments.
