Oils are the most calorie dense food and contain very little actual nutrients. It's best to eat a food in it's most natural form in order to derive all of it's nutrients. People who cut oils out of their diet and follow a plant based diet have actually been known to reverse their heart disease. It's really a combination of all the nutrients you get from a plant based diet that help prevent disease, not just one particular food.
