The same way they can rely on "science" that says climate change is based almost solely on man-made CO2. Following liberal logic in 1972, England would have been an uninhabitable frozen rock (Paul Erlich) by 1990 and on liberal logic in 1992, the Maldives would be submerged by now. It gives them reason to be in control. Facts do not have anything to do with it. I agree with Friedman on the economy. Isn't it amazing whenever there is gridlock in Washington, the economy improves?
