Is there any historic or archaeological basis for the authenticity of the Bible. I am not an archaeological authority, but I believe that there are very few copies of the Bible in existence that date to before the advent of Christ (the Dead Sea Scrolls were a significant find, but even the Torah in its present form did not exist then and there are differences between the versions. there are also books referenced in the Bible that no longer exist. And what about the Apocrapha? How much of that is scripture that was thrown away because it disagreed with the theology of those who compiled the Bible?
