Corbett: The oil companies should pay no tax. First, only consumers pay tax, so when the company pays, they must charge the consumer more. Second, oil company products are vital to our nation's security, and prosperity. This cannot be over stated. Without these products, there would be less heat, electric power, food, building materials, and all other products. Everything depend on oil products. As for food, without fuel, the stores would soon be empty. Some other places people pay $9 or more per gallon for gasoline, and those prices and our own are mainly the result of government corruption. The difference now is that the President is very public about it - pushing for higher pump prices now, and higher taxes on oil companies.
