Romney is a problematic candidate for the GOP, something they refuse to recognize. RomneyCare is so much like ObamaCare that it's going to be really hard for Romney to distinguish himself from Obama since the health care issue will be the strongest debate. By continually forcing Romney on conservatives, the progressive arm of the GOP has, inadvertently, aided Obama in the general election. He can run on the "we're pretty much alike, so vote for the devil you know" platform. Romney can win the general, but only if he can keep the debate on the economy and even then, I think it's going to be another close election. If Chicago gets its act together, Obama will win, same as Kennedy did in 1960.
