How about we get health insurance out of employee pay packages. Make every health insurance plan have a large deductible, say $2000 wit an 80/20 split. Allow MSA's that are fully refundable that will cover deductible and co-pay. But, make it so the insured has to see the money deducted from their MSA to pay the deductible and co-pay. health care consumers need to be participants in the finances of health care. Require providers to publish their fees based on CPT codes, including discounts offered to contracted health insurance companies.
And, require providers to accept as full payment from cash payers the lowest of all discounted fees. Currently, cash payers (uninsured) pay full 'list' price" until their account goes to collection.
