My friend, the real problem with the 47% comments are that they are not gaffes. Despite Romney's great debate performance, he is still perceived to be oriented toward those of wealth at the expense of the middle class. The Middle class HAS been buried over the last 4 years (actually the last 10 years) and Romney showed his supercilious attitude toward those facing serious challenges. I have both a son and a father who receives a benefit from the government. My son was hurt in Iraq and my father was bankrupted by health care costs before he turned 65. I was a supporter of Romney but no more.


When Mitt Romney was first given the opportunity to further explain the ’47 percent’ remark he made at a fundraiser in May he said it wasn’t ‘elegantly’ stated. Essentially, the comment represented his beliefs about government dependency in ‘Obama’s America’ or, ‘trickle-down government’ as he described during the debate. In an interview with Sean Hannity, however, Romney changed his tune:
