I spent 12 years in a christian school. I wonder what sect of christianity Mr Giles is?

If a christian is supposed to be Christ-like I wander what I missed in those 12 years of schooling that shows any Christ-like behavior in Mr Giles.

I am a lefty but agree 90% with Mr. Norris. I saw something today on TV about the Obama kids. Seems one of them was getting a little too chunky and Barack and Michelle took action -exercise, changes in the diet etc. The fresh veggies in the white house garden. Their vacation activities centered around hiking and other physical activities.
On a personal note, I was grew up wealthy in everything but money. We had our first fast food family meal when I was 11 or 12. We need to change our culture and nuture our children - to me that means universal health care.

I agree completely with your comment. But you imply a link of Obama with communism. I think Obama is somewhat like teddy roosevelt "the trust buster" and FDR "the new deal". I thought mainstream people stopped using the communist card after Joe McCarthy. Playing the communist card also doesn't work well unless you are in the early baby boomer group.

I am glad you and yours have had access to good medical care. I too have been generally fortunate with coverage. But we have a constant struggle to get reimburments. Endless calls to straighten things out. When my wife decided to be a stay home with our newborn the insurance company denied her coverage based on a pre existing condition - an athletic injury years early. I had to pay for her premiums for a year until they relented. My point is that we have a medical system that needs to be reformed. We spend 19% of GNP for health care.
